With specialized guides, this expedition to the Chilean high plateau provides insights to the origins of the region, whose geological and historical features attract tourists worldwide. The tour travels the Moctezuma Formation, a vestige from the Jurassic period with more than 180 million year of age, the Cordillera de la Sal, the Moon Valley, Atacama Salt Flat, and El Tatio Geysers. A lecture introduces the archaeology of San Pedro de Atacama where the tour visits the native communities and the surrounding villages, like the village of Tulor founded around the year 800 B.C, and also takes part on the search of petroglyphs.
