It is located approximately 1.000 Km to the South of Santiago. In the Los Lagos Region, visitors are awaited by a perfectly chained lacustrine scenery, inserted in the natural setting of luxurious flora and fauna, the presence of Llanquilhue, and Todos lo Santos lakes prevail.
Llanquihue is the second largest lake of Chile , on its banks are the cities of Llanquihue, Puerto Varas, Frutillar and Puerto Octay and the villages of Las Cascadas and Ensenada, where it is possible to appreciate the influence of the german settlers in their architecture, handicrafts and in the delicious pastry of kuchens, cakes and marmalades.Among the most traditional events here, we must point out the National Folklore Encounter and the Bierfest or Beer Fest, in Llanquihue; The Musical Weeks in Frutillar; the Party of the Southern Meats; and the Kuchen Festival in Puerto Varas.
Some of the activities that can be carried out by tourists, are fly fishing of salmon like species, in Llanquihue and Todos Los Santo’s lakes as well as in the Rivers Maullín, Pescado, Blanco, Tepu, Petrohué and in Cayutué Lagoon. Fishing season in Llanquihue Lake is extended from September 15 to the third Sunday of May.
Other sports to do are rafting, windsurf, canoeing, kayak, canopy and floating.This area allows you to enjoy nature by climbing the Osorno Volcano, go trekking in the Puntiagudo, Calbuco and Cerro Tronador along with ornithology and a photographic safari in the Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park.
