Mapuche Cultural Tour in Pucon
The indigenous inhabitants of Chile, the Mapuche, is an ancient civilization that still lives today here in the south of Chile. The Mapuche community here in Pucon welcomes you to interact with their people and learn of their difficult history and their fascinating culture. This includes tasting the typical Mapuche foods of the season, learning of the rich details of the town they live in, and seeing a traditional Ruca or Mapuche house made of wood and straw, usually circular in shape.
You will also have the opportunity to visit the intriguing Mapuche Museum located in Curarrehue where tourists will get to explore a fine collection of intricate silver jewelry, art, textiles, ceramics, weapons and more. The museum will give you a deeper understanding of the Mapuche lifestyle, beliefs, among others.
During this tour you will also get to get in touch with nature, visiting 2 enchanting waterfalls that are glorified for its magnitude and leafy vegetation. Wander around the greenery and walk through trails surrounded by native forest, nalcas, ferns and the gorgeous native flower, copihues.
The tour will end with the rapid white and pure waters of the Palguin and La China waterfalls, approximately 70 metres in height.
